THE CHAIRMAN
Mr. Ettore Sansavini, is born in Forlì the 29th February 1944. He's promoter, managing director and chairman of Villa Maria Group.
In 1973, Mr. Sansavini undertook the direction of the nursing home "Villa Maria", placed in Cotignola (Ravenna), actually becamed "Villa Maria Cecilia Hospital", orienting it resolutely towards activities of high cardiovascular specialty, with the support of sophisticated and innovative technologies, professioanals of proven expertise and international reputation, motivated partners.
In 1989, after having acquired some of the Villa Maria's shares (investing his savings), and with the participation of a merchant bank, Mr.Sansavini reached the absolute majority of the stocks of the nursing home.
In 1993, he established the Villa Maria Group, giving life to an holding that in few years will become one of the most important health network, with a large spread in various Italian regions and with important projects abroad.
In 1998, Mr.Sansavini decided to invest in the biomedical industry sector too. He purchased an innovative facility in the biomedical district of Medolla (Modena), leader in the production of medical equipment for autotransfusion.
Over the years it has specialized in products for extracorporeal circulation used in the operating theatre, and also devices used in intensive care or in hospitalisation wards.
Between 1995 and 2000, Villa Maria Group started a campaign of acquisitions of several health structures in some Italian regions, directing the activity on highly specialized disciplines.
Beyond to Cardiology and Hearth surgery, Mr. Sansavini began to invest on Neurosurgery and Orthopaedics.
In 2003, he decided to extend his sphere of action to the Spa and Wellbeing sector: with the acquisition of the management of "Terme di Castrocaro" (and the Grand Hotel annexe), and looking at the future, he started a reconversion approach of the entire Spa complex in a center of health and wellbeing.
Currently, Villa Maria Group has in course important investments in Italy and the European East.
