Advanced investments and technologies
Every year, Villa Maria Group makes significant investments in technology in order to increase the Quality of the health assistance service: 1.700 total beds, the 160 beds destined to intensive care, sub intensive care and reanimation go together with the 73 operating theatres, the 14 haemodynamic laboratories, the 5 linear accelerators for radiotherapy.
Considerable investments are made in diagnostic: together with the 10 IRM and 16 CT units, the Group is one of the five centres in Italy to have the Gamma Knife unit: an innovative radio-surgery technique used for treatment of cerebral pathologies. Especially indicated for neoplasia cases, Gamma Knife is a less invasive alternative to the bistoury that allows to achieve effective results.
The Group recently purchased a TAC-PET unit that reads tumoral cells, enabling a more accurate and effective diagnosis of oncologic pathologies.
