The birth of Villa Maria Group network

In 1993, the management of Villa Maria clinic began to develop the project to create a Group network with a first acquisition, Villa Maria Beatrice, placed in Florence, a facility specialised in pediatric cardiosurgery and for adults; and Villa Maria Pia, in Turin, incorporated from a group in crisis.

The purpose was always the same: to act in integration of the public Health Service investing in those fields inwhich the public Health Service operated in inadequate way.

At this moment matured the idea to establish Villa Maria Group consolidating it with the creation of service companies that would have place side to the activity of the hospitals and Outpatients clinics.

President Ettore Sansavini's strategy has been always ispired to the reinvestment of the profits: after Florence and Turin, has follewed  Villa Maria Eleonora in Palermo, Villa Azzurra in Rapallo (Genoa), Salus in Reggio Emilia, and still then Villalba in Bologna, San Pier Damiano in Faenza, the three Outpatients clinics in Ravenna (Ravenna Medical Center), Forlì (Primus Forlì Medical Center) and Agrigento (Agrigento Medical Center), the two clinics in Rome (Casalpalocco and Villa Bianca). At last the Puglia facilities, with Città di Lecce in Lecce, Anthea in Bari, Casa Bianca in Cassano Murge (Bari) and Santa Lucia in Conversano (Bari). 

To all this has followed the purchase and the subsequent widening and restructure of a company, Eurosets, that manufactures and commercializes surgical and medical equipments in the biomedical district of Medolla (Modena), known all over the world; and the replacement in the management of the Spa of Castrocaro (one of the first cases of privatization of Spa).

Taking advantage of the synergies between the several Group's facilities and companies, a series of societies has been established that worked in different areas like centralization of purchases (Kronosan), hotel services, cleaning, sanification and maintenance of the equipments and environments (Sia), health and environments quality and safety (Aqs) and technical management, consultancy in terms of clinical engineering and health building (Gvm Engineering).

The services offered are completed by the organisation, assistance and management of administrative and accounting functions.
